Israel registered 1,681 COVID-19 coronavirus infections on Monday — a new record high daily uptick, the Health Ministry reported early Tuesday.
Over 27,000 tests were conducted on Monday, the ministry said, suggesting a positive test ratio of just over 6.1 percent.
At least 177 patients in the country are in a critical state, with 55 requiring artificial lung ventilation, out of a total of 524 hospitalizations.
