Israel is unlikely to take further steps to lift the anti-coronavirus restrictions in the immediate future, a senior Health Ministry official said Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, Sharon Alroy-Preis, Head of Public Health Services at the Health Ministry, warned that the country is seeing some concerning signs as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.
She warned that COVID-19 transmissions were slowly rising, albeit below the level registered before the nationwide lockdown was implemented in mid-September.
For Israel to enter the next stage of reopening, the number of new daily cases must drop below 500, she said.
