Israel’s foreign minister, Israel Katz, on Wednesday denounced Sen. Bernie Sanders over the 2020 White House hopeful’s comments about Yerushalayim during the latest Democratic debate, labeling them “horrifying.”
Sanders said during the debate Tuesday night that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was a “reactionary racist,” adding that he would consider returning the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Tel Aviv if he became president.
“That remark is shocking,” Katz said in an interview with Army Radio on Wednesday, according to reports.
“The remark by Sanders, who is of Jewish background, is his second against the state of Israel on topics that are at the core of Jewish belief, Jewish history and Israel’s security,” he said. “Naturally, people who support Israel will not support someone who goes against these things.”

Its hills and valleys, its streets and alleys
I tell my rallies, belong to Pallies
Their hands are bloody, I’m still their buddy
These chumps will surely vote for me
This land is your land, go steal some more land,
Go lob some mortars, invade their borders
Burn down their gardens, you’ll get my pardons
I’ll just blame Israel for all your villainy
You’re excellent! Please add a name so that I should be able to look out for your superb poems.
