According to a report by the Washington Post, an Israeli source revealed that the recent aerial strike on Isfahan, Iran, was executed with precision and deliberation and was “carefully calibrated.”

The source, who remains anonymous due to lacking authorization to disclose details, is acquainted with an Israeli briefing on the operation, as per the Post.

It was further communicated by the source that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) conducted the airstrike inside Iran as a countermeasure to Iran’s prior launch of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) towards Israel over the weekend. The objective of the strike was to convey Israel’s capability to engage within Iranian territory.

In response to the incident, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi of the Iranian army, as cited by Iran’s IRNA news agency, attributed the explosion heard in Isfahan to the interception of “a suspicious object” by air defense systems, with no resultant damage. The matter is under investigation by experts.

A senior Iranian official, in communication with Reuters, indicated that there are presently no immediate retaliatory plans, emphasizing uncertainty regarding the responsible party for the attack.

Iranian media outlets have purported that investigations are underway to determine whether the assault originated from Iranian soil, suggesting the utilization of drones or small UAVs.

Acknowledging a lapse in radar detection, military authorities conceded that no unidentified aircraft were registered entering Iranian airspace.

A representative from President Biden’s administration assured Reuters that the United States was not involved in the Israeli operation and had been briefed by Israel in advance.

It is conjectured by the official that Iran is unlikely to escalate tensions by initiating further attacks.

Israel has refrained from issuing an official response to the incident. Instructions relayed by the Foreign Ministry to Israeli diplomatic missions worldwide have been to refrain from commenting on the developments in Iran.
