Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations on Sunday lambasted Sen. Bernie Sanders over the critical comments he recently made about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing the presidential candidate as “a liar, an ignorant fool or both.”
Speaking at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference, Danny Danon offered a searing rebuke to Sanders for calling Netanyahu a “reactionary racist,” according to The Times of Israel.
“Whoever calls the prime minister of Israel a ‘racist’ is either a liar, an ignorant fool or both,” Danon said as he spoke on the first day of the pro-Israel lobbying group’s annual conference. “We don’t want Sanders at AIPAC. We don’t want him in Israel.”

Ambassador Danon, if anything, understated the case against Senator Sanders. Just in the past year or two Sanders has cozied up to and even endorsed antisemites Tlaib, Omar and Corbyn, while condemning Israel and its government as racist. Sanders is an unutterably evil and foul individual who fits the definition of a virulent antisemite, despite being Jewish himself by accident of birth.
That said, I hope Ambassador Danon did not make a mistake by saying what he did here. We need friends, and it’s not always wise to alienate someone who has a large following, even by speaking the truth. I don’t even want to think about what a President Sanders (G-d forbid) would do to the U.S. and Israel.
