The Department of Justice is being required to respond to a request by a New York news outlet to make public the warrant that led to the raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday, Newsmax reports. Federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, who reportedly signed the warrant, ordered the justice department to “file a Response to the Motion to Unseal” no later than Monday, according to the Daily Wire.
The request was made by a news outlet in Albany, New York, and the conservative legal action group Judicial Watch.
Trump attorney Christina Bobb said Reinhart signed off on the warrant application for the FBI raid.

The simple text of the warrant is only a small part of the story. There are all the supporting materials that went into obtaining the warrant in the first place (and those materials are what really tell who is doing what and how), and Trump has no access to that any more than anyone else. So logically before those supporting materials can be accessed clearly the warrant itself has to be unsealed by a court as a first step to the court releasing any of the other material.
But in terms of the warrant itself, one smells a trap where the Feds are just waiting for Trump to release the warrant so that the Feds can claim that such a Trump release has triggered spring some obscure, arcane (and probably novel interpretation) of some law or rule that the Feds will use to harass Trump and company even more.
So let’s hear. Who’s the current president of the US?
When asked what would happen if the Justice Department refuses to unseal the warrant by Monday, one senior FBI official – who describes himself as a Conservative, and not like the rest of his colleagues in the upper echelon of the agency – told reporters, “I’ll send down a few dozen FBI agents to raid the Department of Justice and seize whatever documents they can get their hands on, including the warrant application and relevant materials.”
When asked whether he would need a warrant to conduct the raid, the senior FBI official said: “Technically, I would probably need a warrant from the Justice Department, but do you really think the Justice Department will give me a warrant to raid the Justice Department? I don’t think so.”
