Beginning today, Tuesday, June 1, numerous Corona restrictions in Israel have been lifted. All rules regulating indoor gatherings, as well as Purple Badge requirements have been scrapped. There are now no limits on gatherings, indoors or outdoors. The Green Pass program has been cancelled, as well. Additionally, social distancing is no longer required, meaning it is no longer required to keep two meters between people. Essentially, the only major Covid restriction to remain is the requirement to wear masks while indoors. This, too, is being examined by a Health Ministry committee.
However, with regards to international travel, restrictions still remain largely the same. One significant change is that it is no longer required to fill out a health declaration before traveling out of Israel. However, a health declaration must still be submitted by inbound passengers, prior to travel to Israel. Furthermore, in a move geared toward discouraging travel, Kupot Cholim will no longer offer corona tests for purposes of travel, and citizens will now need to pay for such testing privately. Additionally, the mandatory corona test upon arrival in Ben Gurion Airport, which was free until this point, will now cost money. Passengers will be charged 100 NIS for this exam or 80 NIS if they book an appointment in advance.
Lastly, entry to Israel rules remain intact. Foreigners continue to be barred, with the exception of specific categories of passengers. See here for further details.
