Pennsylvania has moved smokers to the top of its list for getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has added “persons ages 16-64 with high-risk medical conditions” to phase 1a of its vaccine allocation plan. Smoking is listed as a high-risk condition.
Health care personnel, long-term care facility residents and people 65 years old and older are also included in Pennsylvania’s phase 1a. The state is now in phase 1a of its allocation plan.
The change was first reported by WTAE-4 in Pittsburgh.
In a statement to The Hill, a spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Department of Health said “Our goals are to prioritize persons, while the vaccine supply remains limited, who receive the vaccine to maximize benefits and minimize harms caused by the virus, promote justice, mitigate health inequities, and promote transparency. The [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], the [Food and Drug Administration], and numerous studies have demonstrated that smoking disproportionately impacts those with low socioeconomic status.”

I guess wasting money daily on things that can dramatically shorten your life as well as those around you could lead to a low socioeconomic status.
What a great way to get to the top of the list … sounds like a great advertising campaign for the tobacco companies. I wonder which lobby pushed to pass this policy.

This is totally absurd!! If these people cared about their health, they wouldn’t smoke! To put them ahead of seniors is despicable!
There is a special board in the U.S. Government that keeps the statistics of all reported deaths and other bad reactions that resulted from using vaccines; it is called the “Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System” (abbreviated “VAERS”). It shows that for just this three week period, there were reported a total of 181 instances where people actually died from taking one of the brand new Covid-19 vaccines.
As every day there is a steady increase in the number of people dying from what are obviously pretty serious problems with these new inoculations, maybe we need to start seriously thinking that maybe our running after them is running down the wrong road??????? As, evidently, they carry a significant amount of something that can be so harmful — so deadly harmful — they certainly SHOULD NOT be being used at all!!
