Almost every day, Rav Chaim serves as sandek at brisos at his bais midrash, sometimes at as many as ten brisos in one day.
A recent bris at the home of Rav Chaim presented a historical background, as Rav Chaim was serving as sandek for a third generation in a row.
Rav Yeshaya Epstein, who has accompanied Rav Chaim to thousands of brisos, related that Rav Chaim was the sandek of the father of the baby, and over fifty years ago, Rav Chaim served as sandek at the bris of the baby’s grandfather.
Rav Epstein remarked, “Ashrei ayin ra’asah kol zos, blessed is the eye that has seen all this, three generations for whom Rav Chaim has served as sandek, receiving brachos from Rav Chaim for bracha and hatzlacha.”
