Rav Uri Blau zt”l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Uri Blau zt”l. He was 95.

A member of the Old Yishuv, Rav Uri was a son of the renowned Rav Amram Blau.

His wife, Mrs. Malka Yehudis, was a daughter of Rav Hersh Eichler. She died 21 years ago.

Rav Uri was known as one of the great zealots of Yerushalayim. Every Shabbos, he marched to protest the desecration of Shabbos in Yerushalayim.

He would daven in the Khal Yereim shul in Meah Shearim, where he was a beloved and respected figure.

The levayah was held at his home on Botei Ungarin Street in Yerushalayim, passing the Mishkenos Haroim Bais Medrash on Rechov Meah Shearim en route to Har Hamenuchos for kevurah there.
