During a demonstration held two nights ago in the Geula neighborhood of Yerushalayim, Chaim Mizrachi, an innocent bystander, was arrested on the grounds that he had attacked police officers.

This was false.

Mizrachi was arrested by a number of detectives, who were documented as beating him violently. They arrested him using severe violence.

Thursday morning, police asked the court to extend the young man’s detention, but Judge Adi Bar-Tal released him without restrictive conditions. Bar-Tal sharply criticized the police and ruled that it was “irrational violence.” The Department of Police Investigations has opened an investigation into the incident.

The appeal alleges that the young man cursed a police officer after he refused to leave the demonstration area, which was declared illegal.

“During the handling of the incident, after a police officer gave a dispersal order and declared that it was an illegal demonstration, the suspect approached a police officer and was asked to leave the place,” the appeal said, “but the above returned to the police officer’s vehicle.” It was further written that “the officer approached him in order to detain him, but the above began escaping and therefore the officer was forced to arrest the respondent and use reasonable force against him.”

Mizrachi told the media that these are all lies. You can see Mizrachi’s interview below.

Police further allege that during the arrest attempt, Mizrachi attacked the officer. An appeal filed with the district court stated that “during the use of force, the respondent strangled the police officer. According to the police, the officer’s assault is documented in a video filed with the court. The officer was forced to arrest him and, due to his violent resistance, used reasonable force against him to take control of him. ”

Again, Mizrachi said that claims of resistance are fabrications by the Israeli police.

Mizrachi was severely beaten during the arrest. MK Yitzchok Pindrus arrived at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where Mizrachi was hospitalized, to closely monitor his medical treatment.

Pindrus said: “We will not rest or be quiet until the abuse of the policemen is addressed.”

The Israel Police responded: “Yesterday, there was a violent disturbance in Yerushalayim against a cellular phone store… Dozens violated public order while damaging a cellular store and blocking traffic. During the police operation and after a dispersal order was given by police, the police used means to disperse the riots in order to stop the violence at the scene. During the riots, eight suspects were arrested for causing damage and violating public order.”

  1. Moving! Very moving! The Israeli police are not the problem. Anything else normal is the problem! Yvette Liberman and Bennett are fine! Chomesh is the problem! Anything Chareidi is the problem. It’s a country of thugs! Remember what the Divrei Yoel zatzal said!!

  2. Police animals in Yerushalayim but Arab terrorists are handled with silk gloves. And these police animals would have no problem joining secular protest.

  3. WHEN CHILDREN IN GEULA SHOUT “NAZI!” AT THE POLICE, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT. MANY OF THESE POLICE THUGS ARE RUSSIANS AND ARABS.
