IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi concluded a thorough evaluation of the military’s preparedness for a range of potential scenarios today, according to an announcement by the army. This assessment preceded a meeting with CENTCOM chief Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla.

The evaluation and subsequent meeting occured amidst heightened tensions in Israel regarding the possibility of an Iranian assault, prompted by Iran’s threats following the assassination of two generals, along with several Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers, in Damascus, Syria.

“The IDF is fully equipped to handle both offensive and defensive maneuvers against any form of threat. We are currently in a state of war and have maintained a heightened state of readiness for approximately six months. The IDF remains vigilant, closely monitoring developments in Iran and other regions, while continually preparing to address both existing and potential threats in collaboration with the United States armed forces,” stated Halevi in remarks released by the IDF.

“Our troops are primed and prepared at all times and under any circumstances,” he emphasized.

The assessment was attended by various high-ranking officials, including Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, Maj. Gen Oded Basiuk of the Operations Directorate, Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva of the Military Intelligence Directorate, Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar of the Air Force, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo of the Home Front Command, and other officers, as reported by the IDF.

According to the IDF, top commanders presented their readiness measures for both offensive and defensive strategies, while also discussing potential scenarios and refining operational responses.
