malaysia-planeRescue crews are still searching for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, which lost contact with air traffic controllers around 2:40 a.m. local time. Although the Vietnamese government reported two six to nine mile-long oil slicks and “rubbish,” it is still unclear whether the discovery is related to the Malaysia Airlines flight.

Families of the 239 passengers’ loved ones have been notified. People from 14 nationalities were on board, including two Americans, with most passengers from China. Bizarrely, however, Austria denied that its citizen was onboard the plane. That person had had his passport stolen two years ago but was safe and sound in Austria.

Similarly, although an Italian was listed onboard the flight’s manifest, Italy’s foreign ministry confirmed that no Italians were onboard. The plane did not send out a distress call or bad weather report before it went missing, two hours after it took off from Kuala Lumpur on its way to Beijing. Read more at CNN.
