Sen. Marco Rubio says he’s ready to tighten the belt on government funding for cities with voting noncitizens, Fox News reports.

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida announced that he will be introducing legislation to pull funds from any U.S. city that allows noncitizens to vote. The bill is a direct response to a Thursday decision from the New York City Council, who opened voting to their hundreds of thousands of residents without citizenship.

“No city which allows non-U.S. citizens to vote should receive U.S. government funds,” Rubio said. “Next week I am going to file a bill to make that the law.” Read more.

  1. Senator Rubio, I’m with you in theory but unfortunately I do live in NYC where the mayor, a protégé of Fidel Castro, just pulled it off. Why will us New Yorkers have to be penalized for the transgression of a mayor who represents merely himself. His numbers reflect that he is the mayor of nearly no one!
