A shooting attack was reported tonight at the entrance of the Ma’ale Adumim settlement, east of Yerushalayim, leaving the suspected assailant “neutralized” and an Israeli security guard wounded.
Another suspected attacker reportedly escaped the scene.
The wounded security guard, in his 20s, was evacuated to Sha’are Zedek Hospital in Yerushalayim.
Security forces later confirmed that the Palestinian assailant killed by Israeli forces was the same terrorist, Udai Tamimi, to kill Israeli soldier Sergeant Noa Lazar near the Shuafat refugee camp in east Jerusalem on October 8. – i24 News –
“Jill and I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Udai Tamimi,” President Biden wrote on his POTUS twitter account shortly after the attack. “This type of senseless murder of a Palestinian gunman only perpetuates the brutal acts of self defense.”
“I have ordered the Treasury Department to mail out a 1 million dollar aid package to Mr. Tamimi’s family to assist them in their time of need,” Mr Biden went on to tweet. “Mr. Tamimi succeeded in his first mission, but might have come up short on this one. Nevertheless, it’s the thought that counts.”
“Our prayers are with Mr. Tamimi’s family,” the President added. “May his soul find its true purpose in the depths of Sheol Tachtis.”
