Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro has directed the establishment of an embassy in Ramallah, as announced by the country’s foreign minister Luis Gilberto Murillo on Wednesday, per Reuters.
“President Petro has given the order that we open the Colombian embassy in Ramallah, the representation of Colombia in Ramallah, that is the next step we are going to take,” Murillo stated.
Petro has been openly critical of Israel’s actions in Gaza and declared earlier this month that Colombia would cut diplomatic ties with Israel in response to its actions following the October 7 Hamas attacks.
In November, Petro announced the recall of Colombia’s ambassador to Israel due to the ongoing conflict.
“I have decided to recall our ambassador to Israel. If Israel does not stop the massacre of the Palestinian people we cannot stay there,” he wrote.
Later, Petro compared Israel’s operations in Gaza against Hamas to “Nazism in Germany.”
Additionally, Petro showed support for remarks made by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who likened Israel’s actions in Gaza to those of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler against Jews during World War II.

Great idea. Let the Palestinians kill the ambassador. Whoever thinks these thugs like anyone but themselves should try it. They use all these crazy leftists to their benefit, but next they will kill them too, because according to them, anyone who is not Muslim is an infidel.
