Georgia Senate Democrat candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff campaigned Saturday with Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), who in 2016 compared Israeli settlers to “termites.”

Warnock and Ossoff attended a “Drive-in Rally” hosted by the Rockdale and Newton County Democrats with Johnson.

Johnson’s rally with Ossoff and Warnock raises questions about Johnson’s controversial remarks, including his own commentary on Israeli settlers.

At an event in 2016 sponsored by the Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation — which supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS), Johnson said:

“There has been a steady [stream], almost like termites can get into a residence and eat before you know that you’ve been eaten up and you fall in on yourself, there has been settlement activity that has marched forward with impunity and at an ever increasing rate to the point where it has become alarming.

“It has come to the point that occupation, with highways that cut through Palestinian land, with walls that go up, with the inability or the restriction, with the illegality of Palestinians being able to travel on those roads and those roads cutting off Palestinian neighborhoods from each other. And then with the building of walls and the building of check points that restrict movement of Palestinians. We’ve gotten to the point where the thought of a Palestinian homeland gets further and further removed from reality.”

Johnson also said that “Jewish people” also frequently steal land and property from Palestinians.

  1. With all due respect, he did not call Jews termites. He COMPARED the actions of SOME Jews – those who are perhaps acting against the advice of many Gedolei Yisroel – to the behavior of termites. Very different.

    • Distinction without a difference. An objective person does not have to agree with every place every Jew tries to live in JUDEA and Samaria to know that it is blatant bigotry to say Jews have no right to be there. As well, it was actually the Arabs who completely ethnically cleansed JUDEA and Samaria of all it’s Jews from 1948-67. And of course that wasnt the 1st time in history Arabs had done so, or tried to do so. Therefore, the fact that they are actually disputed territories s made worse by the history of foreign occupies such as Muslims, Byzantines, etc… repeatedly oppressing Jews…

    • You’re wrong. He compared the actions of holy Jews living in parts of the Jewish land to termites. Many Gedolei Yisroel encouraged living all over the Jewish country. He’s an evil man and hope he loses.

    • On the money. This is a guy who doesn’t believe in settlements. And I don’t blame him. He’s a goy. You expect him to understand that eretz Yisrael is ours?? And he didn’t call them termites either. Just more fake news
