The Taliban has ordered clothing shop owners in Kabul to behead or completely cover the faces of female mannequins on display, Peoples Gazette reports. Following their takeover, the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan recently ordered boutique owners to behead or mask the face of mannequins on display.
According to the Taliban, the mannequins “violate” Islamic law.
Several images of masked and beheaded female mannequins from clothing shops in Kabul have now surfaced online.
In addition, the Taliban also ordered them not to sell clothes against sharia law.
An uncle of one of the beheaded mannequins later told reporters that his “courageous and bold niece withstood the pain in complete silence until the bitter end.”
“She didn’t cry or scream,” the uncle said, “she didn’t even utter a sound. It’s amazing!”
“The bravery and heroism of the mannequin community is incredible!” he added.
