During searches carried out by reserve forces in the Gaza Strip, soldiers uncovered an extensive ruse designed to lure them into a network of tunnels controlled by Hamas.
This elaborate scheme involved the placement of loudspeakers affixed to dolls and children’s backpacks in close proximity to the entrance of the tunnel. The intention was to create a deceptive scenario to divert the attention of the soldiers.
The deceptive path traversed various civilian structures, including a school, pharmacy, and mosque, with a focal point being a Hamas command center. This command center was equipped with cameras linked to the electrical grid of the nearby pharmacy, adding a layer of complexity to the subterfuge.
Within the vicinity, positions for antitank missiles and surveillance posts were discovered. Additionally, there was an improvised explosive device (IED) trap strategically set up, with the explicit purpose of targeting IDF forces in the area.
