  1. President Donald Trump has ratcheted up his criticism of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, tweeting on Wednesday that he should step down.

“@BrianKempGA should resign from office,” Trump wrote. “He is an obstructionist who refuses to admit that we won Georgia, BIG! Also won the other Swing States.”

Trump’s latest criticism of the Republican Kemp came in a tweet that also encouraged his backers to watch a broadcast of a Senate hearing in Atlanta on alleged election irregularities.

Kemp has refused to intervene in the state’s presidential election or support Trump’s claims of widespread fraud, which have lost multiple court cases, The Washington Post reported.

Biden defeated Trump in Georgia by approximately 12,000 votes last month, winning the state’s 16 electoral votes. Biden was the first Democrat White House candidate to capture the state since 1992.

Trump previously tried to pressure Kemp and other officials in the state to bring together a special session of the Georgia General Assembly in order to throw out the state’s election results and appoint pro-Trump electors, according to The Hill.
