President Trump on Monday said he would mobilize “all available federal resources, civilian and military” to clamp down on protests across the country, declaring himself the “president of law and order.”
Trump said he was dispatching the military across Washington, D.C., and urged governors nationwide to “dominate” their streets by deploying the National Guard. If they refused, he said, he would send in troops to American cities.
“I want the organizers of this terror to be on notice that you will face severe criminal penalties and lengthy sentences in jail.”

Finding the balance of empowering police to be able to do their job while at the same time denouncing what chauvin did to Floyd is what I would expect would work to calm the country. We need to feel safe in that police won’t kill petty thieves,no matter if they are from a minority group, and at the same time need to know that police will be empowered to act with strength and force when necessary. We need a message that validates the injustice of what chauvin did to Floyd simultaneous with a strong message not to riot.
