U.N. to Release Syria Report

un-united-nationsThe United Nations is set to release its report on the alleged chemical weapon attack in Syria on Aug. 21, but the report might not name who is responsible for the deadly nerve gas strike that killed an estimated 1,400 people.

The U.N. report’s primary purpose is to confirm the attack, and it could identify what agent was used, which is largely believed to be sarin gas.

Meanwhile, on the diplomatic front, China finally broke its silence on Syria, saying that it welcomed the purposed deal for Assad to hand over his chemical weapons while Israeli leaders said Sunday they hope the U.S.-Russia agreement would lead to the “complete destruction” of Assad’s weapons. Read more at ABC News.
