U.S. Files Hacking Charges Against China

chinaThe United States is charging a state actor with cyber espionage for the first time ever. The Justice Department filed criminal charges today against five Chinese military officials for hacking American companies in nuclear power, metals, and solar products industries.

“They used military and intelligence facilities to commit cyber espionage against U.S. companies,” an official told NBC News.

“Enough is enough,” Attorney General Eric Holder said. “It is our hope that the Chinese government will respect our criminal justice system.” China has long been viewed as the worst perpetrator of using cyber spying to gather information and steal trade secrets. Read more at NBC News.
