  1. Somebody told me that a high-school student in one of the Bais Yaakovs had dressed up as S before one Purim and she was duly expelled from school.
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a duck…

  2. Wow. Kiddush Hashem! Me kiamcha Yisroel! Kol Yisroel yesh lahem chelek liolam haba (unless you don’t move to Lakewood before you die).

  3. This Brenner guy is some character.

He interviews a Jewish Santa, and a Goyish Chosson!!

    Nice!!

What’s next? A litvishe Tuna Beigel?!

  4. If these well intentioned but seemingly religiously uneducat Jew declares Sata Klaus doesnt relate / harken back to St Nicholas( who may have been anti semitic) is he qualified to be the arbiter of such things.
Could this possibly touch on chukas hagoyim?
What would Rav Moshe ztl say?
Does the fact that Zev Brenner or Jerusalem post features it make it kosher fare for Matzav?
Would Yated/ Hamodia / now defunct Jewish Observer etc write this up?
Rabbosai methinks theres too much of a relaxing of charadei journalistic standards ; sadly. That is manifest in both journalistic and advertising content.
By featuring this are we increasing ahm levodod yishkon or further blurring the already crumbling mechitzos?
I repectfully plead with the distinguished Rabbonim/ Daas Torah behind Matzav to either tighten up editorially or explain al pe Torah hashkafa why such an item is in any possible way a positive contribution to our Torah commonweal.
Frankly the fact that many havent felt compeled to complain is in itself prima facia evidence of the ever increasing” anything goes” if its ” cute” ideáology that is poisoning our spiritual wellsprings.
P.s. take the ” splaining test”:
How would i explain this to my child/ ainekel if he question any aspect of this ” news item”
    I sadly rest my case.
I salute Matzav for publishing & acting on my last comment 2 weeks ago and i humbly request they consider doing the same regarding this situation.

  5. Many years ago, about 35 or 40, my friend and I were going to walk into a K-Mart store. In front stood a big fat santa clause ringing his bell for people to donate money to his salvation army kettle. As we got closer to him my friend said “Kick ov de grube goy”. The santa looked at us and said “Se nisht dayn gesheft!”
