Rav Shteinman: Be Mekabel Chizuk in Shemiras Shabbos Ahead of Hurricane Sandy

rav-aharon-leib-shteinmanMaran Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman was asked what can people be mechazeik in as Hurricane Sandy threatens the northeast.

Rav Shteinman’s response was “to be mechazeik in shemiras Shabbos.”

When asked what area in particular should be strengthened, he said that people should make sure that eruvin they rely on are 100% kosher.

The question was posed by residents of Lakewood, New Jersey.

Rav Shteinman has, in the past, encouraged people to be mechazeik in shemiras Shabbos when in need of a zechus or shemirah. Rav Shteinman has particularly encouraged people to take upon themselves to be mekabel Shabbos early as a zechus for siyata diShmaya and brachos.

  1. amen,

may we all start doing this & not look at our clocks every minute to see if shabbos is over yet, when in reality life every minute & hour of a persons life is a gift from Hashem for him to continue living

start appreciating every moment of it by spending your time wisely & showing Hashem that you appreciate everything Hashem gives you/us

May everyone stay safe & daven for safety

  4. #3,

Unfortunatly, people are using the Minchas Elazer as an excuse to rely on and encourage relying on eruvin that less than 100% kosher.
