Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont on Wednesday confirmed that a 6-week-old baby had died from complications related to the novel coronavirus, marking the state’s first pediatric death attributed to the disease.
Lamont said officials believe the state’s fatality is among the youngest anywhere amid the pandemic.
“This is a virus that attacks our most fragile without mercy,” Lamont tweeted. “This also stresses the importance of staying home and limiting exposure to other people. Your life and the lives of others could literally depend on it. Our prayers are with the family at this difficult time.”
