Residents of Beit Shemesh’s new Ramah 5 neighborhood awoke to see a giant sign at the entrance to the neighborhood reading, “No Entry for Chareidim.”

The objective was to stir resentment against the city’s mayor, Aliza Bloch, who allegedly refuses to allow the chareidi residents’ basic educational institutions.

Locals claim that Bloch insists that Ramah 5 is not intended for chareidim. Refusing to acknowledge that hundreds of chareidi families currently live in the neighborhood, she is not providing them with kindergartens and normal institutions, and children need to go to other neighborhoods or study in private homes.

The Beit Shemesh municipality responded that the mayor was investigating the situation and wanted to solve it optimally.
