Fox News judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano returned to the cable channel’s air Wednesday morning following a brief suspension over his unverified claims about British officials wiretapping President Trump on behalf of the Obama administration. Napolitano’s claim about GCHQ, the British intelligence service, set off an international incident after the White House cited his remarks during a press conference.

Several of the network’s news anchors sought to distance themselves from his commentary, emphasizing that the news outlet had not verified anything from his claim. Nevertheless, upon his return, Napolitano, a former New Jersey state judge, told host Bill Hemmer that he stands by his claims: “The American public needs to know more about this rather than less because a lot of the government-surveillance authorities will expire in the fall and there’ll be a great debate on how much authority we want the government to have to surveil us,” he added, “and the more the American public knows the more informed there and Congress’s decisions will be.” Read more at MEDIAITE.
