Mattis on Trump’s Tweets: ‘Beneath the Dignity of the Presidency’

In his first interview since resigning from office, former Defense Secretary Mattis appeared reluctant to directly criticize the president, but when he was asked about Trump’s tweets about North Korea he said: “Any Marine general or any other senior servant of the people of the United States would find that, to use a mild euphemism, counterproductive and beneath the dignity of the presidency.”

Mattis appeared to explain his decision not to speak out more directly by saying: “I may not like a commander in chief one fricking bit, but our system puts the commander in chief there, and to further weaken him when we’re up against real threats—I mean, we could be at war on the Korean peninsula, every time they start launching something.”

His aides reportedly told The Atlantic that Mattis believes Trump has “limited cognitive ability,” and a “generally dubious character.”

  1. It’s also not respectful for a defense minister to criticize his sitting President a mere few days being out of office. It shows that this former General is lowly hypocrite. It’s apparent, his word means nothing.

    • If you remember what President Trump said : “Nothing is as it seems”, you will understand that this is all an act by great players. Mattis and many others who were “fired” were, in fact, transferred to more important positions, which will probably be revealed in a month or 2.

  2. Daddy grade humor. We like it even though I never read any.

    I twitter a private account. It keeps me focused. A great way to adjunct your mood for health and prayer.

    Trump is driven. Might in a sworn mood. Twitter is what you get. Darn media so infused the dreaming voter can just grant a day to vacuum sleep.

    The wicked suck out.
