Middle East analyst Dr. Mordechai Kedar shared insights with Israel National News – Arutz Sheva, shedding light on Israel’s dynamics with the Arab world.

Dr. Kedar highlighted, “The Arab world is closely monitoring our every move, especially the protests. In fact, they went as far as airing the demonstrations live on Saturday night. By doing so, they aim to portray Israel as descending into chaos, pitting Israelis against each other.”

Reflecting on Nasrallah’s remarks pre-war, Dr. Kedar emphasized, “Nasrallah expressed optimism fueled by the protests in Israel. The Arab perspective is that these protests will sow internal discord, particularly when people demand actions like unscheduled elections. They perceive the turmoil in Israel as an opportunity to maintain control over Israeli society through institutions like the Supreme Court, despite electoral setbacks.”

While some view the protests as advocacy for hostage families, Dr. Kedar countered, “This assumption is flawed. Only a fraction of hostage families participated on Saturday night—around six or eight out of 134. The majority comprehend that escalating protests inflates the demands on Israel for the hostages’ release, making a resolution unattainable. Despite good intentions, their actions inadvertently hike the price Israel is expected to pay.”

Discussing the challenges of dealing with Hamas, Dr. Kedar admitted, “Neutralizing Hamas is an arduous task. The sheer population of Gaza, roughly two million, coupled with Hamas’s sizable militant force poses a daunting challenge. It’s a matter of survival—either we eliminate them, or they pose a continuous threat to us. There’s no room for negotiation with Hamas. Israel must methodically root out every combatant, regardless of the painstaking process. Until that objective is fulfilled, Israel cannot declare the mission accomplished.”

  1. While they pretend to be for the refugees, the only thing that matters to them is to use the refugees as pawns to destroy the rest of you.
& these guys & gals subtly dominate the state that they want to draft you for

  2. Finally; Somebody telling it as it is. The obsessive focus on the hostages to the exclusion of the overall security needs of Israel has to stop. YES!! we want the hostages back and a price will have to be paid. BUT, it can’t be get them back at any cost. Some prices are too high to pay. Have we forgotten that Sinwar was released in the Shalit deal (1 hostage for 1000 murderers). How many Israelis have to slaughtered by released prisoners before somebody will wake up and realize that defeating Hamas is the goal; not getting the hostages back.

  3. You don’t need to be a genius with degrees to have figured this out. Any person with a drop of common sense knows this fact
