It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Moshe Rochelson zt”l, one of the heads of Yeshiva Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim.
Rav Rochelson headed the Israeli branch of Yeshiva Ohr Somayach for many years, eventually moving it from the main Ohr Somayach campus in Maalot Dafna, Yerushalayim, to the Ezras Torah neighborhood, where it functions as a self-sufficient branch of Ohr Somayach.
It was together with Ohr Somayach founder Rav Noach Weinberg zt”l and ybl”c Ohr Somayach rosh yeshiva Rav Nota Schiller that Rav Rochelson directed his program at Ohr Somayach, devoting his efforts towards the chazarah b’teshuvah of thousands of people over the years.
The levayah was held on Motzoei Shabbos at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim and kevurah followed on Har Hamenuchos. The family is sitting shivah at the Rochelson home at 7 Rechov Even Ha’azel in Ezras Torah, the building in which Health Minister Yaakov Litzman resides.
