A record number of people – 1.5 million visitors – came to the Kosel during the month of Tishrei this year , according to figures from the Kosel Heritage Foundation and the Israel Police. The rov of the Kosel, Rav Shmuel Rabinovitz, commented that “these figures are evidence that the Kosel is the spiritual home for Jews from all around the world, regardless of their background.”
For those who can’t make it to the Kosel, the Twitter Kosel service prints outs tefillos sent through the Internet by “tweets” to a special account, and places them in the Kosel. Tefillos can be posted to the Twitter group at twitter.com/theKotel. Alternatively, private prayers can also be sent by e-mail to [email protected].
