In the interests of transparency, the Health Ministry published a ranking of Israel’s hospitals based on numerous parameters including waiting and diagnosis times and quality of patient care.

The difference in score points between the best and worst hospitals was all but non-existent.

For example, the Rabin Medical Center (formerly Beilenson Hospital) in Petach Tikvah and Ramat Gan’s Sheba Medical Center shared first place with 10 points apiece, and the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa trailed last with 9.79 points.

For average-size hospitals, the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon was rated first with 10 points, while the Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim came in last with 9.83 points.

Among smaller hospitals, Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak scored lowest with 9.52 points.

  1. 9.52 out of…..????
Was 10 the highest? Not to shabby if you ask me. And this is newworthy because…..
    Misleading headline

  2. The point system seems off.
Maayanei Hayeshua is known for their excellent Labor and maternity ward. All other wards could use improvement.

  3. Scores decreases if you don’t stick to the rules of Big Pharma – Health Dept. Maayanei Hayeshua most probably didn’t go along with all their injection regular so their score fell.
